Everybody Benefits From Tour Dallas Tour Dallas provides an opportunity for individuals and families to be active together. This may not seem like much, but in the battle against obesity, research has shown time and again that eating right and being active are the two principle keys to better health. By participating in Tour Dallas with your family, you are showing them that you believe in being active and staying healthy. By participating in Tour Dallas, you are also helping us raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Bikin' Mike will donate 100% of the net proceeds from Tour Dallas to JDRF to help them find a cure for juvenile diabetes. JDRF, the leading charitable funder and advocate of juvenile (type 1) diabetes research worldwide, was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes – a disease which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin-dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $900 million in direct funding to diabetes research. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. JDRF’s mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. For more information, visit the JDRF web site at www.jdrf.org. More Ways To Support The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Producing an event like Tour Dallas is expensive. In 2007 we spent $29,000 on Police support and another $3,000 on cones and barricades (see our event expenses here). With a total cost of $35 per rider, it is challenging to make a lot of money for the beneficiary. Want to help us raise more money to support JDRF? You can make a donation to JDRF online at their website. Just click here and help fund a cure for diabetes.
