Friends of Tour Dallas

Years ago, Bikin' Mike Keel shared a dream with a group of friends. The dream was for a local cycling event that was easy to get to, easy to participate in and especially inviting to beginning level cyclists. That group of friends helped launch Tour Dallas.

Since that time, Tour Dallas has grown into quite an event - far beyond our hopes and dreams and infinitely beyond the capabilities of one person. It takes a group of dedicated people to produce Tour Dallas.

Volunteer Support

As Tour Dallas continues to grow, we need more help. Help with new ideas, new energy and financial support. As a result, we have formed the Friends of Tour Dallas, a group dedicated to helping Tour Dallas encourage more people to ride bicycles. Members will provide volunteer support, financial support or both for Tour Dallas.

Whether you want to take a leading or supporting role - or just want to share ideas on how we can add more fun to the event - Tour Dallas needs you! If you are interested in joining the Friends of Tour Dallas, you can get a membership form when you click here.

Financial Support

Since we began producing Tour Dallas, the economy has changed. Getting corporate dollars is much more challenging. As a result, our corporate sponsorship has dropped to half of what it was when we began. Out of the 8 years we have produced the event, we broke even or lost money 4 of those years. We KNOW that the cyclists in the Dallas area love this event. Lots of people have started riding bikes in a bigger way because they got bitten by the bug at Tour Dallas. So, if you are one of those people OR you simply want to help support our efforts - we invite you to join the Friends of Tour Dallas. We won't promise you any fancy gifts or parties because they cost too much. What we can promise you is that we will use that $$ wisely to support Tour Dallas AND that we will have something special for you at Tour Dallas.
